Болельщики "Манчестер Юнайтед" утверждают, что эта песня была придумана в 1960х годах, но фраза из песни "In Seventy-Seven it was Docherty, Atkinson will make it Eighty-Three" ("В 77м это сделал Догерти, Аткинсон сделал это в 83м") доказывает, что песня была придумана гораздо позже.

Название песни "Glory Glory Man United" также является названием официального журнала клуба.
